Welcome to The Gift Of Touch

Hello, my name is Tim Grady.
I started The Gift of Touch in 2001 to provide safe, comfortable and dignified therapeutic medical massage specializing in services to:

  • Cancer, Alzheimer/ dementia, Parkinson’s patients
  • Patients recovering from surgery, injuries, and/or stroke
  • Hospice patients and their caregivers
  • Pediatrics massage (medical massage for children under 14)
  • Geriatrics massage (medical massage for the elderly)
  • Bereavement massage for those grieving the loss of a loved one

These special populations are unfortunately underserved and underappreciated, yet they are so deserving of the comfort and relief that massage can offer their tired and often beleaguered bodies. Contact The Gift of Touch to set up an appointment. The Gift of Touch will come to you, whether in your home, a hospital, a nursing home, assisted living facility, a rehab center, or a hospice facility. Tim Grady

As a former collegiate athlete, Tim recognized the benefits of a good massage long before he became a professional massage therapist. A massage therapist since 2000, Tim's early work included several family members who were cancer patients, including his own father, who, in addition to suffering from cancer, was slowly slipping away from Alzheimer's disease. A cancer survivor himself, Tim experienced first-hand the benefits of hands-on comfort touch, while recuperating from prostate cancer. Specializing in serving those patients who are suffering from life threatening medical conditions, he recognizes the stress that caregivers are under as they support the patient; therefore, Tim also recommends massage to these most important yet often forgotten individuals. He projects a natural empathy that quickly connects him to the special clientele he chooses to serve. From pediatrics to geriatrics, he comforts, calms, and reassures the young and old alike through
the Gift of Touch.

Celebrating 500th Volunteer Hospice Massage Therapy!

Above Ms Peggy Dawson's nursing home bed at the St. Regis Woods Rehab and Nursing Center is a sign that reads: "Given a tiara and a nice cape, I could rule the world."

On November 9th, 2011, Ms, Dawson became a 'Queen for the Day' as she was the surprised recipient of the 500th volunteer massage therapy session performed by Tim.

Ms. Dawson not only enjoyed her sixty minute massage session but she was serenaded during the massage session by Mr. Steve Taylor, violinist of The Louisville Orchestra.

Ms. Dawson also received a lovely long stem 'white rose' fit for a Queen, from Nanz and Kraft Florists and an eight inch yellow round cake with chocolate icing from Plehns Bakery, both of Louisville.

The clinical staff at St. Regis Woods said Ms Dawson shared her cake with other residents in the dining room at dinner and enjoyed smelling her white rose.

Ms Dawson was all smiles and said a big and grateful "Thank you" to both Tim and Mr. Taylor. Also present during some of the massage session and enjoying the festivities was Hosparus team LN44 nurse, Jennifer Carpenter, RN.

Although Ms. Dawson did not get her 'tiara and a cape', she did receive a lot of caring love, comfort and compassion from all involved on this very special occasion.

Thank you and God bless you, Ms. Peggy Dawson!
